Flavored Butter Spreads

Today seemed like a good day to make some of my popular flavored butter spreads. My eyes always light up when flavored butters or spreads are served with bread in restaurants. A jar of one of my flavored butters goes hand-in-hand now when I gift a loaf of my freshly baked bread, and is a welcomed touch. It’s an added spark to a meal, and so simple, so why not?

There are many options for add-ins to produce seemingly endless varieties of these yummy flavored spreads. And, with many viable vegan/dairy-free butter alternatives on the market, it’s just as easy to whip up some of those to have on hand for our dairy-free guests. Two flavor staples in my kitchen are honey butter and parslied garlic butter.

But, did you know there’s a secret to producing the smoothest, creamiest butter spreads? Not only does the butter need to be at room temperature and softened before mixing, but lightly heating the add-ins assures there’s no lumpy butter! That simple extra step yields a lighter, creamier texture that glides onto bread and crackers with a smooth, silky finish, and adds to the overall consistency of the flavor.

What are some of your favorite butter spread flavors?
